Scope and General Principles
This Backup Policy defines the principles governing the backup of customer data in the web hosting, reseller hosting and related hosting services provided by BNET Bulut Bilişim LTD. ŞTİ. (hereinafter referred to as “BurtiNET”). This policy is to be read together with the Terms of Service; the backup and data loss provisions of the Terms of Service remain in force.
In order to improve service quality, BurtiNET subjects customer data to regular backup and maintenance. Nevertheless, no guarantee is given for backup or restoration; BurtiNET cannot be held liable for outages, data loss or backup failures. You are required to take your own backups to secure your critical data.
Data Backed Up by BurtiNET
BurtiNET may perform automatic backups within the scope below and within the limits of its technical capabilities. The backup frequency, retention period and scope are determined by BurtiNET and may be changed without prior notice.
- Web hosting / Reseller hosting: Account content (including web files, databases and e-mail data) – subject to the size limit and exclusion rules below.
- Backups are kept on the server or on a separate storage medium; restore requests are submitted via the Customer Panel or support. The success and scope of a restoration are not guaranteed.
For virtual server (VPS/VDS) or dedicated server services, backups are provided as a package feature or as a separately purchased backup service; standard packages may not include automatic backups. Details are provided on the order and package pages.
Limits and Exclusions
The following limits and exceptions apply. These conditions are consistent with the “Backup and data loss” clause of the Terms of Service.
- Size limit per account: BurtiNET does not back up sites whose total data size for a single account, including FTP, SQL, logs and e-mail, exceeds 2 GB. Data above this limit is outside the scope of automatic backups.
- No guarantee: Even where backups are taken, data loss may occur due to outages, hardware failure, software errors or human error; BurtiNET is not liable for such losses.
- Exclusions: Expired or unpaid accounts; suspended or terminated accounts; content that violates the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy. Data belonging to these accounts may not be backed up or may be deleted.
Important: For accounts with more than 2 GB of data, always use your own backup solution (downloading via FTP, panel backup tools, a third-party backup service, etc.).
Restoration and Customer Responsibility
Restore requests: If you need data restored from a backup, you can open a support ticket via the Customer Panel or write to info@burtinet.com. BurtiNET will assess the request within a reasonable time; however, no commitment is made that restoration will be possible or that data from a specific date will be available. The restoration process may be subject to an additional fee.
Customer responsibility: The obligation to back up and store customer data in the long term rests with the Customer. We recommend that you back up your own data regularly (via FTP, cPanel/panel backup tools or an external backup service). BurtiNET cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damages arising from data loss; this has been expressly accepted in the Terms of Service.
Termination of Service and Contact
When the service ends: There is no data retention obligation for services that have expired, been cancelled or been terminated. After the account is closed, the related data and backups may be deleted; restore requests are not accepted after this point. It is your responsibility to take your own backups before the service ends.
For questions about the backup policy, you can write to info@burtinet.com. For detailed rights and obligations, please review the Terms of Service.
